Our Story
From one small gas station to a growing Mid-Michigan family.
Umbrella Stores began in 2014 when Gurwinder Singh and Manjinder Kaur started with one small gas station and a simple goal: work hard, treat customers like neighbors, and build something that could serve local families for years to come.
Today, the Umbrella Stores family owns and operates more than 10 locations, with additional locations under construction. Our growth has only been possible because Mid-Michigan families continue to fuel at our pumps, shop our stores, recommend us to friends, and give us the chance to keep earning their business.
Different locations may carry BP, Sunoco, Marathon or CITGO branding—or operate as neighborhood party stores—but the Umbrella represents the family, work ethic and local commitment behind them.
